• The Czech Republic has a population of just over 10 million and the largest city is Prague.

• For centuries, the Czech Republic has been famous for its health resorts, the best known are in Marianske Lazne, and Karlovy Vary.  During your trip, you must visit a health resort to indulge in peaceful relaxation.

• Czechs are the greatest beer drinkers in the world, with more than 80 breweries to choose from!

• Prague Castle is the largest castle complex in the world: 570m long and 128m broad.

• The best wine festival is celebrated in South Moravia where burcak is offered: a wine that has not completely fermented and so – warm and sparkling from the vat – is drunk like lemonade because of its low alcohol percentage.

• The Czech Republic has some of the best wild water canoeing near Cesky Krumlov.

• The Boubin Forest, one of the few virgin forests in Europe, is situated in the Sumava, but is not open to the public.  Nearby Sumava National Park, there are lovely forests and wonderful walking trails.
