  1. Hey, I wont say that I disagree with this posting because London is AWESOME in the winter time, but I do think it’s great every time of year.

    I am also a big fan of the 3-Night Super Flings and Flings that Virgin-Vacations offers, then again I’ve done them 4x so far.

    I recommend London to everyone - it’s a great city (can be a little expensive, but you can do it on a budget too).

I must agree.  London in the winter is fantastic.  There are hardly any tourists there.  In fact, we did not encounter another American the entire week we were there.  We were able to pretty much live as Londoners.  We shopped at Boots, stopped at Safeway in the high street to pick up dinner, with the after-work crowds, we rode the tube during rush hour-now THAT’s great fun!  Seriously.  And the cathedrals, the Tower, the museums had no lines at all.  We walked right in.  We even had snow!  Walking to the British Museum in the snow.  Standing in Kensington Gardens in the snow- I’ll never forget it.  Obviously, you must be a fan of cold weather to get the most out of a winter vacation.  It was around 30 degrees F while we were there, which is slightly colder than we expected, but London is known for being chilly.  You just need a good coat, gloves, and a really great hat and scarf.  I’m planning to go in March this year, timing my trip to an art exhibition I want to see, but I’m already sad about missing my ‘winter London’.
