5 Reasons Why You Should Resolve to Make Travel a Priority in 2007

Did you know that many people in the United States never take their annual vacation allotment?  In our fast-paced society and with people clamoring to get ahead, travel can get pushed to the bottom of the priority list.  Before you know it, it has been years since you’ve taken a proper vacation.

So, make 2007 the year you resolve to make your well-being a priority and get planning a vacation or two!  Here are just a few of the benefits you’ll realize!

You’ll reduce your stress.  Travel gives you a terrific opportunity to de-stress and relax.  It actually helps decrease burnout even though the act of getting to your destination can be stressful.

You’ll add excitement to your life.  A vacation provides you with a break from the every day and that can help inject you with some energy.  It is therapeutic for all of us to take a break from our daily routines.

You will increase your activity.  Travel gets you off your butt and getting involved in a variety of activities.  Unless you plan to spend your entire vacation planted on the beach, a vacation will likely have you walking, sightseeing, swimming, biking and more.

You will experience interesting food.  Vacations also give you a break from the mundane eating you likely are doing day in and day out.  Although travel can mean a slight weight gain due to larger portion sizes, alcoholic beverages and the occasional dessert, just be sure to offset that increase in calories with a bit more exercise!

You will meet new people.  Traveling is a great opportunity to meet people from around the world and expand our horizons.  Socializing is great therapy and helps you learn about the history and culture of other people.
